Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
